Spinning
The process begins by spinning the yarn, preparing the fibres for the stages that follow.
Dyeing
The yarn is immersed in colour, allowing it to absorb rich, even shades before it is woven.
Weaving
The dyed yarn is woven on a traditional loom, with each pass building the dhurrie’s pattern and texture.
Washing
Once woven, the dhurrie is washed and worked over to clean the fibres, soften the weave and bring out its character.
Finishing
The final details are carefully worked by hand, from trimming and tidying the surface to giving the dhurrie its finished form.
